- A little bit of controversy. See Controversy in a Nutshell.
- A really good ride. See Short Go: Who They Picked.
- And a little more controversy: See 7.8 Seconds?
- Austin Meier takes first place from Renato Nunes. For now.
- Travis Briscoe and Guilherme Marchi struggle with wrist injuries. I'm predicting no Marchi next week.
- Travis Briscoe tried his first bull with his usual riding hand (his left). He bucked off in a couple of seconds. He used his right hand on his second bull and stayed on for about five seconds. He looked good. Seeing him on that bull even for a few seconds was a reminder of how enjoyable he is to watch when he's healthy.
- McKennon Wimberley also rode with his off-hand due to a wrist injury and also bucked off.
- The Final Five "Showdown" used to be the Final Five "Chase" but they changed it. You can just see the marketing wheels spinning in the PBR brain-trust.
- Ben Jones suffered a concussion and a separated shoulder.
- Highway 12 is a good looking bull.
- Three bulls scored 46.25 in the short round: Bones, Major Payne, and Voodoo Child. And that's something to snort about.
That's the short story, ladies and gents. There may be more as the day goes on.
