    A Bull's Years

    He is born in the late winter or early spring after a gestation of 283 days, but his official birthday, regardless of what month he was born in, will be January 1st. At birth he weighs forty-five pounds. He will remain with his mother for eight months. Although this article is about the lifetime of the average bucking bull, we'll give this calf a name. We'll call him Picador.
