Bull Riding, Pure and Simple

I don't know about you, but I really like it when the bull pen is full of bulls I don't know anything about.  It can go either way, good or bad, but it's always interesting to have unexpected bulls in the house.  Sometimes it goes well.  This weekend it did.

So, we had a bunch of riders coming out of the Last Cowboy Standing and a week off, and we had some interesting bulls out of the northwest.  And then we had a lot of guys making a lot of rides, but not mushy rides on crappy bulls, but good rides on decent bulls that were not overpowering but not a piece of cake, either.

So everything was going along very well.

Then you had three rides in the final short go, all of them for 90+ points.  And they were big, fun, exciting rides.  The kind of rides that make bull riding worth watching.  Robson Palermo came on when he needed to, LJ rode when it mattered, and Reese Cates blew in from who knows where and made a showing on Wild & Out.

It went down to the wire, the last ride counted, and it was just plain exciting.  No injuries to speak of, no controversies, no replays, reviews, or close calls.  Just bull riding, pure and simple. I don't know about you, but I loved it.
