Arthur Lidral of Idaho sent this photo of a new calf with this message:
"This is the first calf of the year for us. He was born on one of the colder nights and had to be brought in to the house to save his life. He was put in the bathtub to raise his temperature and then dried off with hair dryers before going back outside to mom. I'm happy to say he's very alive and kicking out in the pasture."

Here's another one, from M.J. Bonsall of Bonsall Bucking Bulls:
She. writes:
"Both calves were born on the same day when it was wet and cold plus windy. They were rescued to the house to be placed in front of the wall furnance which we turned up to 90 degrees. We got the room as warm as Jamacian tropics and brushed continually to stimulate their circulation. About six hours later and one quart of colostrum milk, they were returned to their mothers. We trapped both mothers in the barn - dry and wind off them, to help continue the process of rest and restoration to calves. Both are doing good.
Bulls: Red bull - Dancing Rein out of Miss Reindrop (Miss Reindrop is a Reindeer daughter).
Black and white bull - Hilton Hotel out of Miss Silver Wings (Miss Silver Wings is a Silver Wings daughter)."
